How often does the HSA meet?

The HSA meets weekly, every Thursday evening from 8:00-9:00 pm EST on the HSA Discord Server. All history students at the University of Ottawa are welcome to attend these meetings.

How do I join a meeting for the first time?

Join the HSA Discord Server and select the “office-bureau” server. There, you’ll be able to observe our meeting. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Do I have to be a member to participate?

You’re automatically a member of the HSA if you’re a history student at the University of Ottawa (meaning history is your honours, major, minor, or joint honours). Therefore, there is no “formal” way to join the HSA to attend our events. That said, if you would like to be involved in planning for the HSA, you must join as an executive member. We currently have positions available so if you’re interested click “join us” to apply.

How do I visit office hours or contact an executive?

For general enquiries, feel free to contact us by email at: hsa.president@artsuottawa.ca.. If you’re interested in speaking with a specific executive member, feel free to join their predetermined drop-in office hours listed under our contact page. If you’re unable to visit their office hours, feel free to send them an email. All executive’s email addresses can be found here.
